Disney and Strollers v Baby Carrier

For those of you who went to Disney and brought your own stroller with you what did you bring? Your big stroller or an umbrella stroller? I have a Vista and G-Luxe. The G-Luxe will be easier to get around but the Vista will probably be more comfortable for him and we can fit much more in the basket.

I also plan on bringing our baby carrier but do you think it'll be too hot and sweaty for him? It is going to be mid-October.

We are staying on property so we will be walking from the Beach club to Epcot and then taking the monorail to the MK from there. He's only going to be 7.5months so we're not doing Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom.

Save your back don't bring a baby carrier to disney. I would bring only one stroller that is easy to transport and if it gets ruined by the flight that you care less about.

We took DD when she was 9 months. We brought our maclaren. Before the trip we also bought a backpack diaper bag. It was much more convenient to have the bag on our back for many reasons. We also brought the carrier and used it quite a bit. It was the middle of August and I didn't have an issue with being too hot.

Some things to consider are: you cannot take strollers on many rides/areas. So having the diaper bag backpack and carrier to hold baby in on line and on rides will be very helpful. If you plan on taking the bus around Disney you MUST fold the stroller on the bus. Again, putting baby in carrier is helpful. Also, my DD would nap easily in the carrier. So, if I thought she was ready for a nap, I put her in the carrier to sleep over the stroller so I wouldn't have to move her.

ETA: Get yourself a stroller bag (I think about $20 from BRU)for the flight that you can gate check. We have used this more than once and have not had a problem with our stroller being ruined.

Thanks! I have the travel bags for both my strollers but based on your recommendations I'll be bringing the umbrella stroller. We're only going to be taking the bus once to dinner at Jiko, other than that we'll just be on the monorail or walking.

I'll definitely look into getting a backpack diaper bag. Do you like yours, who makes it? Thanks!

Like pp said I'd being both we went in June and had long lines and there's areas where you can't bring strollers so the carrier was very helpful and for when you have to fold up the stroller

I brought my vista to Disney and I am so thankful I did. My dd was very comfortable the entire time. She naps the best I this stroller. I also loved having the huge basket from stroller. We bought a cooler everyday with milk for her and snacks. We took the monorail everywhere so there was no issue of folding it up.

I would bring the umbrella stroller.

You can get any type of backpack and use it as a diaper bag. I had a vera Bradley one that I used when we went last September.

I brought my city mini. I had an umbrella that I could have brought but was glad I brought the bigger one.

I also just got a regular backpack and used that instead of a diaper bag.

I was just in Disney a few days ago...I brought an umbrella stroller, a backpack as a diaper bag and a carrier. I used the baby carrier when we waited on a line for a ride or to meet the characters and also at night time when it's not too hot. But you should absolutly bring the carrier!!

I just went to Disney with my 4 month old and I would recommend your comfy stroller for the baby, u want him to be happy and comfy if u dont want to hold him a lotmand I brought my carrier to Incase he did want to be held a little. Which he did at times. A day in Disney is long I'm sure your baby will want to be help for a little. Hth

we are goign in Nov. I have a 3 yr old and 6 month old. I'm bringing the carrier for holding on line and stuff and thinking of brining my double britax bready. It's big but I want them both comfy. Im just hoping its doable on the bus from the airport. We are staying on the momrail so im hoping we wont be on buses to often

does anyone know? Is this stroller ok for the bus?

It depends on how much you need to bring and what you will do for nap time.

Personally, we do better without strollers because it is easier to get in & out of tight places. With the ergo, I can go all day. I'd break the day up, have kids an at hotel, and go without a stroller.

We took LO to Disney when he was 10mos. We didn't take a stroller at all and definitely didn't miss it. We had our Ergo and one of my woven wraps. It was perfect and we didn't have to worry about where to put the stroller and lugging it around.

If the Britax carrier is one that is forward facing out, I would not recommend that. You're going to kill your back. Invest in an ergonomic carrier and practice front and back carries. Easy peasy. Let me know if you need help. I'm also selling my Ergo if you're interested. =)

We always bring our city mini rather than our umbrella (which we used for our first trip). It can fully recline when he naps, and it has a bigger shade to cover him up. The basket is bigger. And it has a snack tray for him and a holder for our drinks.

I did use my ergo when he was really small.

I brought a city mini gt double for my boys. Best thing ever! I'd get the more comfortable stroller. They will prob nap in it my kids were 2 and 1 when I went

We took DD when she was 6 months. Took our citi mini. I'm not familiar with either of the strollers you mentioned but I would bring one that reclines almost all the way.

The monorail is stroller friendly - you don't have to take the baby out and fold it up like you do on the buses.

Definitely take the lighter stroller.

Depending on your child, I would also bring the ergo. Our kids both like the stroller fell asleep really easily in the stroller.

I know I personally would be too hot to wear a baby around. When DS#2 was a baby, we went to the Hamptons in the summer. On one outing, I wore the baby in a baby bjorn. I was so unhappy bc it was hot enough without wearing a baby.

I have the Bugaboo Cameleon and I would be afraid to fly with it, for fear of damage. I would feel the same way about the Vista since it, too, is not cheap. I'd prob bring an umbrella to Disney. For a baby of 7.5 months I would bring the carrier. It can't hurt to at least have it with you for if you need it, as it doesn't take up much room.
