dishwasher melted plastic?
My sister's fh loaded the dishwasher the other night and when they went to unload it a plastic measuring cup had melted to the heating coil. Any advice as to how to remove the melted plastic?? TIA

I remember this happening to my parents several times when we were little. oh man, did it STINK!
I don't know how to get it off other than breaking the plastic off.

I did that recently too. When the coil gets cold it's easier to chip the plastic off.

be careful I had this hapen i didnt realize it, it lite on fire and I had to call the fire dept. it was pretty scary. i smelled smoke, opend the dishwasher and just saw flames, I shut it and grabbed my cell and got out of the house. Luckly it stayed inside the dishwasher but it was runied.

Same thing happened to us. We turned off the d/w and let it cool down and then we pulled the plastic off and it all came off in one piece.

This happens to me all the time! The sippy lids and sports bottle lids have a way of ending up down there. Like someone else said, just pull it off after it cools. It smells awful though!
