dishwasher advice

so we have a brand new dishwasher and it stinks!! Everytime we open it to load more dishes when there are already some in there the smell is awful. it gets this disgusting mildew smell that the only solution to is running the washer even when it is not full yet.

Does anyone have any advice on what to do with this?

Run an empty load with white vinegar and that will get rid of the smell. Buy a small bottle and pour the whole thing into the bottom of the dishwasher and run it on a short cycle. The cause of the smell is usually caused by using too much detergent. Cut your detergent pour way down or try buying those premade detergent squares. Those squares are the perfect measure.
