A while ago someone mentioned a discount for the annual zoo pass. The website is bronxzoo.com/save but you need a code. I bought one using the code 1234. The first time it says invalid but try again. The premium family pass is $144 and good for a year plus to the end of the month you make the purchase (so it makes sense to buy it at the beginning of the month for a full 13 month membership). Bronx Zoo costs $32 for adults and 20 something for kids over 3, so the pass pays for itself on the second visit.
