Dipper or a Drowner?
Another food related question I ask during my boredom...
Do you drown your food? Or dip?
i.e. when DH and I eat steak and mashed potatoes (other than my food not being able to touch) I put bbq sauce on the SIDE so I can dip my meat, and the gravy is in a whole 'nother bowl (if I do even want gravy on my mashed) He smothers it all...
same thing with Thanksgiving, he drowns his meat potatoes and stuffing and I dip...
Henceforth, DH is a drowner and I am a dipper
What do you do?

Re: Dipper or a Drowner?
I even go as far as dipping my salad in dressing not pouring it on the whole salad

Dipper - I always ask for dressings and gravy on the side.

Re: Dipper or a Drowner?
Depends. Fries I like to dip. I hate putting ketchup right on the fries. Makes them soggy. Steak I like to dip, in A1.
But Thanksgiving dinner I will drown the potatoes and turkey in gravy. But I think thats the only thing I will drown.

Re: Dipper or a Drowner?
Hmmm do both count? With potatoes, I put the gravy on, salad, I put the dressing on, etc.
Fries, chicken, steak, I dip.

Re: Dipper or a Drowner?
I'm a "depends" person. Salad= drowner. Chicken fingers = dipper, onion rings = dipper (french fries = neither... just salt), mashed potatoes = drowner

Re: Dipper or a Drowner?
It def depends on the food and the associated condiment. And sometimes it just depends on my mood. I find it takes more effort to dip, so if I'm feeling lazy I might just drown everything.

I'm a drowner for sure: cheese, ketchup, bbq sauce. I always use multiple packets of condiments.

Re: Dipper or a Drowner?
I'm mostly a dipper, unless it comes to mashed potatoes. Then I like to drown it in gravy.

Re: Dipper or a Drowner?
I dip because usually if I drown something it loses the flavor of one of the things and sometimes it also loses the texure of it.

same here. if there's too much ketchup, mayo, dressing etc on something, i can't eat it. the ketchup cannot overpower the taste of the fries but gravy... i can drown my food in gravy i voted for "dipper" because i dip more than i drown
