Dining room furniture question

This Dining room table that I have been in love with has now gone on sale with free shipping. However there are no side chairs available, just arm chairs and the side chairs have been discontinued. Would it be stupid to buy 8 arm chairs?

TIA

I think it depends on how big the table is? Personally, it would bother me that the chairs would stick out and I couldn't push them in.. but, if there;s enough room at the table, and you don't mind-I say go for it!

Yes I see what you are saying the table has two 18inch leaves and the measurements are 76"W x 44"D x 30"T without the leaves........

the chairs do not have to match the table (ie a packaged set). if love the table then buy with 2 arm chairs. search around for side chairs with the same wood tone as the table and arm chairs. if the design is slightly different, it's fine.

don't get armchairs--i think that would look pretty awkward! there's no rule that the table and dinign chairs must match exactly. if you look at home decorating magazines, you will see that almost always, the table and side chairs were not made to match together.

if you could post a pic of the dining table and armchairs, maybe i can make suggestions for side chairs. i personally love skirted parsons chairs as side chairs.

I would be afraid that they would get chipped from bumping into each other. Can you post the set, maybe we can suggest similiar looking chairs?

I have all arm chairs. IMO I think it looks nice and is more comfortable

I have 2 inserts, so when we have guests, the chairs spread out pretty far from one another
