Ding dong, Avon FMing?
I got an FM from someone who has an avon screen name who saw my sandals post last night and wanted to remind me that avon sells flip flops and don't forget about all the cosmetics available and she is here for all my avon needs. Now I can sleep knowing there's someone out there for some unfulfilled need I guess. Is FM solicitation allowed around these here parts?

Yes vendors on LIF are allowed to send FM's to users if they think that they can be of service to them.

No offense to the Avon person, but that would definitely bother me. I don't like pushiness - it's a turn-off.

I got an Avon FM as well, regarding a skin care post I had posted a bit ago. I didn't respond since I'm not interested, but I was surprised too.

If you don't start behaving we might have to. I saw your sandal post on NFR this morning.
We might have to start giving temp suspensions for people who continue to post on the wrong forum. Like a LIF penalty box.

Actually, I got an fm from the same person, regarding a product I was curious about and posted about on the beauty board, and she offered to send me samples to see if I liked them, I accepted the offer, and I got the sample of the one I was interested in, and a few others, it was actually really nice to be able to test it first...and I think I'm going to buy it...so for me it worked out....I was happy that she read my post and fm'd me, otherwise I'd still be wondering whether or not that stretch mark cream smelled funny.

I agree w/ Client Services. I'm a vendor on LIW and I FM people that I know are looking for a specific thing... a lot of times people don't look and ask questions, but mention that they are looking for a certain thing and does anyone know where to get it...that sort of thing.
IMO the vendors pay a pretty penny to advertise on these sites, and if we (as posters, not vendors, since I'm not a vendor on LIF) can have access to a message board like this and LIW for free- then it's worth an FM from a vendor every now and then.
