My puppy will not stop digging craters, not holes, CRATERS, all around my backyard-any suggestions are appreciated, we refill them, and she digs them back up and its not just near the fence or the corner of the yard, its in the middle of the yard, someone, anyone, please help!

Re: DIGGING
is she trying to dig to hide a toy or bone, if so dont let her out back with toys or bones, she wont have a reason to dig. if its digging just to dig.... I have no idea lol

Re: DIGGING
cut her nails, she might be digging because they're bothering her...
also, when Gus used to dig, if I caught him doing it, I'd go quickly and stand in the holes, put my feet right where he was trying to dig and I'd say "no dig".....for some reason this maybe him stop..
he only digs when he's at the beach now, but I let him, actually sometimes I'll start the hole with my fingers, and try to get him to do it, it makes him sooo tired digging in the sand

Re: DIGGING
Cut the nails and put rocks in the holes. Also they do this when they are bored.

Re: DIGGING
Try filling the holes with their poop. It's not going to stop them from digging in other places but it will stop that particular hole. We have 2 boxers and one of them is a digger, it didnt totally stop her but it stopped it from getting bigger.

Re: DIGGING
Digging is generally caused by boredom....I would try to play with her more and get her some exercise. Nice long walks, etc....
I have noticed that if we don't exercise Misty, she will start digging random holes in the yard.

Re: DIGGING
OH NO-these girls are the least bored animals you will EVER meet-plus we go on a 1 hour walk everyday and as far as her nails go, they get cut about everyother week, my conclusions are a.) she is just being mean and b.) my other dogs are trying to sabatoge her and "telling" her to do it-the second I even say her name she jumps out of her crater/hole and runs on the other direction. Thanks for all you help though-they are great suggestions, my backyard is humungous and they have plenty of "hard toys" only as outside toys. All indoor toys are plush and squeeky. Thanks again though, your responses definitly feel better and know that I am not the onnly one with this problem
