difference between 24Mos and 2T?
Ok, so DS is about average in height, but a little stockier. He is now in 18 months clothes (he is 19 months). I think probably come Oct-Nov, he'll move to the next size. I have some stuff in 24mos & 2T. Is the only difference the length? Do kids go right into 2T from 18 months or go to 24-then 2T? I've been extremely lucky to have a LOT of clothes from my MIL & Mom, but I might for once have to get some stuff for late fall/winter and not sure what size to get. Thanks!

2T is longer, and I believe I read that 24m is fuller in the booty to allow for a diaper

If he is average, I would definitely go with 24 months.
I made the mistake last year of getting DS stuff in 2T and it was HUGE on him, especially pants. Shirts, it matters less with and I think you can go with either.

Re: difference between 24Mos and 2T?
great question
I've been meaning to ask since I bought a lot of 2t & 24mo stuff for AJ
I tell you one 2t shirt (tinker) fit her snug and prefect and I worry it won't last for very long. Other stuff looks huge and some 24mo stuff looks small
and why don't they have 30mo stuff!?

Re: difference between 24Mos and 2T?
i used them at the same time (depending on the brand) I think the 2T is a little (very little) wider and longer!
That is funny because I asked the lady in the carters what was the difference between 5 and 5T and she told me that 5 was a little wider!

No, because my 1 yr old is wearing 2T & 3T, depending on the brand!
To answer the OP question, I found 2T to be longer for both shirts and pants. Also the neck hole on the shirts was bigger, and the elastic on the pants was a bit wider too.

Don't feel bad, my 6 month old was wearing 12-18 months today too! I have no idea what size to buy for the winter season.
To the OP - I found that some it all depends on the brands. I bought carters 24 months for the summer season for my 2yr old who is on the small size and those fit perfectly or a little snug. I also bought some 2ts that were a little small. It's tough because you never really know until you put it on them.
