Did your LO outgrow a dairy allergy?
If your LO had a dairy allergy, did they outgrow it? If so, when? What ages or how often did you retry it?

Re: Did your LO outgrow a dairy allergy?
My DD did. She was EBF so I had to cut dairy until she was 1. At 1 she was ok if I ingested dairy & BFd her, but she got a few hives when I gave cows milk yogurt. We went to the allergist who did the skin test & it was so slight he told me to keep eating dairy and to let her keep having small amounts. She outgrew it completely by 15 months.

Did your LO outgrow a dairy allergy?
My dd doesn't have an allergy but has an issue digesting dairy more specifically milk. She can eat cheese and yogurts but if I even try a glass of milk she cant digest it. She gets bad gas and either diarrhea or constipated very badly. She tried ice cream and too much had the same effect.

Did your LO outgrow a dairy allergy?
DS had a milk protein allergy from 3 months on. At 12 months we introduced whole milk and had no issues.

My DD outgrew it by 15 months. We tried introducing milk once before, at 12 months, and she was okay for a few weeks, but then had mucous in her stool.

Re: Did your LO outgrow a dairy allergy?
DD is going to be 7 in July and still has a dairy and egg allergy. Everytime we retest her we get hopeful, but I don't think she will ever grow out of it.
I EBF her for 11 months and cut out all dairy when I found out about her allergy at 6 months old.

Re: Did your LO outgrow a dairy allergy?
DS doesn't have an allergy in the sense of a typical IgE reaction but he has a milk protein intolerance (he tests negative on the intradermal skin testing and blood tests) that was noted at 12 weeks with bloody stool and excema. At 2 years of age if he has ANY dairy he still gets diarrhea and facial excema w/in 48 hours of eating it. Sooooo frustrating but at least its not anaphalaxis

My ds has the same issue. He is 2.5 and it hasn't changed.

My DS had the same issue and outgrew it. We had him on lactaid and tried him on non-lactaid milk again when he was 3 1/2 and he did fine.

Re: Did your LO outgrow a dairy allergy?
DS 1 had a mild dairy allergy and outgrew it between 1 and 2.
one of my twins has a dairy sensitivity right now. He is 10 months old and we are just starting to reintroduce dairy. I'm slowly adding it into my diet (I BF) and I've given him small amounts of dairy. His ped. believes if he still has the sensitivity it will show as a lactose intolerance and we will see blow out poops. So far I haven't seen this or an increase in eczema. Sometimes I wonder if his irritability has something to do with dairy I eat or the low amounts he has. It's frustrating not knowing for sure. I'm tempted to go back to the allergist.

Re: Did your LO outgrow a dairy allergy?
My daughter only drank soy milk until she was about 5. We slowly reintroduced cow milk around that age and now at 7 she has not had any issues at all. (She used to get severe stomach pain)

Re: Did your LO outgrow a dairy allergy?
Yes. We were able to introduce yogurt and cheese at 9 months or so and she did well. Then we started adding whole milk to her bottles at 15 months (like 1 oz a day) until she was fully on milk. The only residual issue I see from dairy is some constipation. Oh and the reflux meds stopped once we had her on all whole milk and there were no issues.
