So far I have made:

Appetizers
Cranberry Sauce
Sweet Potato Casseroles
Stuffin just need to add the bread and broth
Cranberry cake
Garlic Paste for the Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

The turkey is brining right now
Gibblets are cooked and cut up for gravy

Re: Did you start cooking?

just started the butternut squah soup, and then I'll get on the sweet potato casserole.

We'll brine the turkey today, and maybe make cranberry sauce, but everything else will wait for tomorrow.

Re: Did you start cooking?

YES I started last night. My sister came and helped me and we made the stuffing (from scratch), took about 3 hours.

Tonight I'll keep on cooking and start dessert.

I love Thanksgiving dinner!

If my son would go down for a nap Chat Icon I could get started on the soup and cream puffs and get a turkey breast in the oven.

Re: Did you start cooking?

I was going to start today but now since my DH is in the hospital we aren't eating till sat or fri -- depending on when he comes home -- so i can't start yet because i don't know what day we'll be eating and i don't want things to spoil.

Even though we are going to family tomorrow, DH brought a turkey home last night and it is cooking right now.

we will eat tonight as just husband and wife for our first thanksgiving together, I have to go to store and get cranberry sauce, yams, etc. still. he will be home after 930. and the left overs on friday.

It's when you soak the turkey in a salt solution prior to cooking. You don't need to do this with most store bought frozen turkeys, they inject a salt solution under the skin so that it's already brined. It's really only necessary on the fresh turkeys you get from a farm or whatever.

Re: Did you start cooking?

I'm not cooking this year and I'm so relieved, because I don't know when I'd find the time. I barely had enough time to make my cupcakes.

Re: Did you start cooking?

I've made my pumpkin pie, sausage for the stuffing (family recipe, I know it sounds weird), green bean casserole, and candied yams. Now I just have to put the stuffing together tomorrow, cook the bird, and make some biscuits. It's just DH and I, I have no idea who is going to eat all of this food!

Re: Did you start cooking?

Yes, I have the Turkey in cold water now for a couple of hours and I finished up all the sides. They just have to be cooked tommorow. I am sooo happy that I decided to do it tonight and not tommorow morning.
