Did you register for everything or buy the big items yourself?

Do people usually buy you big things like the crib or should we buy it ourselves. My family keeps asking me what they should get us. I also don't want to wait until after my shower to see if we get everything.

I picked out our furniture and my mom and MIL chose which pieces they wanted to buy. We bought the rest of the furn. I know people who have registered for furniture and family members before the shower got it for them.

I registered for all other big things like carseats, swings, crib sets etc.

We bought all Nursery Furnitures(my parents bought us all furnitures for the Nursery) and strollers(My MIL and FIL bought us a carriage and a very nice Chandelier for the Nurser as well).

We bought the crib and other furniture ourselves. We just registered for the rest, carseats, strollers, bedding etc.

We bought all the furniture ourselves and registered for everything else.

we (my family and me and DH) purchased the furniture and then we registered for car seats, strollers, etc

My IL's offered to buy the furniture, but I don't think I would of put it on the registry had they not offerred. Maybe I'd put a crib on there, but not all the peices. Every thing else is on the registry, the most expensive item probably being the stroller or the breast pump.

My parents bought the nursery furniture for us and the travel stroller system (which we registered for). We also registered for every thing else. People bought the big stuff off the registry for the shower and I'm finishing it up this weekend with the little stuff that wasn't bought.

We bought the furniture (bargain hunted), and I registered for the rest.

I didn't register for the crib, b/c it takes up to 8-16 Weeks to get, SO, I think my DH and I am going to have to buy it ourselves, unless someone says they want to buy it for us way before the shower

we bought the crib and the stroller ourselves, then our parents gave us the money for it... we received a lot of the things we wanted from the registry and the rest of the things that were left over and I really really wanted, I just bought this past weekend....

My parents bought our crib and we bought our stroller. We didn't register for anything over $120.

We bought the crib and we were given the changing table and dresser.

The only "big" thing we registered for was our travel system. Although, apparently, there were a lot of complaints b/c we didn't have enough things in the $50-$100 range on there for the shower.

We originally registered for all the furniture and travel system but after finding SUPER DEALS we decided to buy those items ourselves just in case nobody would buy them from our registry and we would be stucked later buying them at full price.

I registered for most things and wound up getting a lot of gift cards, especially at my work shower. I didnt register for nursery furniture b/c my parents are buying that for us

The parents bought us the furniture- we didnt register for it. We registered for all the big items and they were all purchased for us!!

I figured I would put it down and if they didnt go, then we would buy them ourselves.

We put it down & IL'S bought the crib & changing table & a toy chest for us. My parents gave the shower & bought some of the larger items (pack n play, exersaucer, stroller)
