did you buy anything special for your pregnancy?

I am just wondering if any of you bought anything special to use during your pregnancy (aside from clothes)

ie: books, pregnancy journals, magazine subscriptions, fetal doppler, etc...

After my first appointment I ordered a subscription to fit pregnancy magazine. So far that is the only thing I have bought. (and I think it will take a while for the magezines to start coming).

We also went to the library to take out the books "what to expect when you're expecting" and a week by week pregnancy book (forget the name). I am wondering if they are worth buying eventually I just would rather not blow the $ unless necessary.

Just wondering what items/keepsakes you have bought or used. I have seen pregnancy journals, etc. I don't know if it is worth buying one.....I kinda wish someone had bought me something like that but don't know if I would actually use it.

I bought a pregnancy journal, but I only really used it the first trimester. I got tired of answering the questions, I guess I am not really a journal type person. I hope to be better with DS's baby book.

I bought the BabyPlus Prenatal Education System and used that once. It was a waste of money, DH sold it on Ebay.

I didn't subscribe to any magazines, but you will get some anyway from the registries you do. I get American Baby and a few others that just started arriving.

I bought a bunch of books: The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy, Belly Laughs (both of which I only read once, so would recommend getting from the library or a friend), What to Expect, and Your Pregnancy Week by Week (my favorite, I refer to these two all the time). I also got a free copy of the Mayo Guide to Pregnancy from Aetna, through my health insurance.

I bought 2 books (the Mayo Clinic Guide to Pregnancy and the Pregnancy Week by Week book). Besides that, nothing really that I can think of.

My friend bought me a pregnancy journal when I told her and it's nice to write some thoughts etc, but I'm not thrilled with the layout of the journal itself. It's great, but I wish it had a section for just thoughts/feelings for every week.

i bought the book "pregnancy sucks: when that little bundle of joy makes you miserable"... probably one of the gratest books out there... other then that nothing major...

My insurnace company sent me the Mayo clinic book and my gf bought me what to expect when expecting. I borrowed Belly Laughs from the library. I haven't even touched the Mayo Clinic book, WTEWE I don't read it on the regular but I do open it and Belly Laughs didn't do anything for me.

Don't go crazy.

A good friend of mine gave me Belly Laughs and Pregnancy Week by Week !

I got What to Expect When Expecting and What to Expect in the First Year and I rented a doppler because I'm paranoid. I'll probably do a baby book and put my sonos in there rather than having a pregnancy journal by itself.
