did Cablevision change their silver and gold plans??
I got an insert with the bill of what the gold plan offers and what the silver plan offers and I have the silver (which has encore,starz and all hbo channels) but the pamphlet says that the now the silver package has showtimes and the gold package has all hbo channels and it costs $20 more per mth

They changed the plan -- a friend of mine works for Cablevision and told me they were doing a change to the plan.

Unfortunately it appears so.
I think it's a way to get people to just go to the Gold package. Because you can get the silver and add HBO for $14.95 but for $5.05 more you can just get the Gold and it will include TMC & Cinemax.

If you want HBO only it's probably cheaper just to buy that channel seperately.
That's what we do with showtime. Instead of getting the package that includes showtime (used to be 25 dollars extra a month) it's 10 dollars a month to add just the showtimes.
Then again, maybe they changed that too.

it's not
I had just HBO
then I swicthed to all the movie channels
then I tried to switch back to just HBO
and it was cheaper to keep them all and drop the on demmands to save a little

i though this was for new customers only ... so if you had the original plan silver plan you still get to keep it ... is that not true?
