did anyone not take dc trick or treating?
We were not home because I needed to find somewhere with electric to pump. (On a side note I lost tons of frozen breastmilk :( )
I honestly didnt think people would go trick ir treating on wed. Now I feel terrible for ds. I dont think my neighbors would mind if I took him but I wish he could go with other kids.

What are you planning on doing if your town has no "official" reschedule

Re: did anyone not take dc trick or treating?
We didn't. And neither did a lot of kids on our block. I just emailed our neighbor who organizes our block parties each year and suggested we at least reschedule trick or treating for our block. He is going to work it out with all the neighbors once we get power back

did anyone not take dc trick or treating?
newsday just put out an article on kid places open this weekend.... then at the end said: "Kids missed out on trick-or-treating? Here are two events in Nassau and Suffolk.
Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano invites parents with children to the "Hurricane Sandy Trick-or-Treat Halloween Party" from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. tomorrow at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building (1550 Franklin Ave., Mineola). It will be decorated as a haunted house and free candy will be handed out at various offices throughout the building. Best costume wins a prize!
Enjoy Trunk Trick-or-Treating at Fireman's Park in Lindenhurst at 2 p.m. tomorrow. Decorate your trunk or car, wear costumes and bring candy for kids to have a safe postponed Halloween. Call the Village Hall or fire department for more details."

My DD is too young to TOT, and in my neighborhood we had TONS of TOTers on 10/31 , but I will tell you that if some people rang my bell on Sat or even Sun to TOT I would welcome it. I still have plenty of candy and I don't see why not. I say go for it!

Re: did anyone not take dc trick or treating?
we didn't... they had no clue it was even halloween! I was hoping her school would reschedule their halloween party or our district would reschedule their safe halloween, but it dosnt look like either of those things are happy, so now I'm feeling pretty bad about it...
i think we are going to pretend that tomorrow is halloween and dress them up in the house and have my in laws over for dinner...

We didn't. But DS is only 18 months old and had no idea it was Halloween. We went to my inlaws (they had power), put him in his costume, and took pictures and had pizza.

We didn't. Ds is 14 months old so it didn't matter. Even though I was looking forward to it. We put him in his costume & took pictures.

Do you mind sharing the info about the Halloween event in Patchogue? I would like to take my kids.
Thanks!

We didn't go Trick or Treating. We were staying in a hotel since we had no power. So we decorated our room, put a candy basket outside the door and told people to take a treat. The other kids (and parents) were sooo appreciative of that. We went to Monster Mini Golf down the road from the hotel, and went swimming and got pizza after. My kids didn't miss the Trick or Treating. We had done a lot of Halloween things prior to actual Halloween though!
