did anyone have issues with their child adjusting to daycare?
Oh, i am just beside myself..my DD is not adjusting...she has only been going there a few days but she screams nonstop and they told me today she threw herself on the floor and banged her head against the wall etc....
She has been home with a nanny for almost 2 years...she is 21 months...i thought she would love it....
Is this common and does it take time...they kinda made it a big deal and maybe it is...i just dont know...

It's common. Send her with something from home like a book that she can have read to her when you drop her off.

thanks!! It has been awful, i would understand if she had been there a week or so already but she has only been there for two days and only a couple of hours as that is all they are doing...

DD started F/T at that age. I sent her in with a photo album full of pics of mommy & daddy together with her as well as her "blankie" from home.

My kids had/have major issues. They were also with a nanny previously. They just hate it and cry all the time and fight with other kids. I am hoping it gets better but so far it hasn't. So you are not alone!

DS#1 started at that age and had trouble, but mostly just for 5-10 minutes.
#2 only recently have had problems (since 2 3/4)
what works/ed best for us is have them look out the window and we go outside to wave goodbye. Not sure if that is possible for you?
and I always love what one teacher says "Mommies always come back!"

How do you feel about BRIBERY?
Give DC a special treat to bring into her class that he can have when you leave.
DS has been in daycare since he was 6 weeks. He's 2 1/2 now and still bribe him.

Great ideas! I think i am going to do the treat thing and bring in book/blankie...there is no school today or tomm due to jewish holidays so she is at home and we are having a very difficult morning so far...lots of tantrums...
