Did anyone else....

move in their furniture in some rooms BEFORE painting and carpeting them?
If I could have carpet and painting done prior to moving in any furniture I would but unfortunately I can't. So painting and carpeting is set to be done the week after move in.

I just was wondering if you found it to be a real pain with the moving of the furniture, etc. And any suggestions.

THANKS!

Re: Did anyone else....

Yes - we moved all our furniture into the garage, attic & basement while we waited for our floors to dry (had the wood refinished just prior to moving in). It was a total PIA to essentially move twice. But worth it.

Any rooms that we've repainted along the way, we just broke down the furniture, stored it in the attic and got to work.

Like I said, it was a PIA but it has to be done. Good luck!

We just move whatever furniture we can into the next room and everything else we gather in the middle and put a tarp over it for painting. It is not that bad at all.

Carpeting is a different story! We only carpeted one room and moved the stuff into the adjacent room.
