Did anyone do the AFP bloodwork
I am going for that bloodwork today. How long does it take to get the results? Does it have a high false positive results?
I wasn't stressing about it at first and now I got that in my head and a little stressed.

I just did it yesterday...I guess its routine...1 vial of blood....they told me if I dont hear from them, then all is normal...

I had it done.
All was normal since my midwife didn't discuss it with me until my next monthly appointment.
Not sure about the rate of false positives.

I did it as well, at 16 weeks. 1 vial of blood & a week later I got a letter from my OB'S office saying the results were in "normal limits"

i got it done but since my ultrascreen came back normal i'm not worried. the results take 5-7 business days with my lab but i'm not getting the results until my next dr's appointment (maybe i should be more proactive but i am just not  )

It's usually done between 15 - 20 weeks. It checks for the chances of any abnormalities with the baby.

I asked the doctor yesterday, he said as long as it is after 14 weeks, the results will be accurate...I asked bc I am taking it at 14w5 days.
I think the latest is 16 weeks.

I did mine 2 weeks after my Ultrascreen at about 15 weeks. I asked them not to call with results since I was having an amnio anyway. I found out at my amnio what my AFP results were.
