Diapers and more diapers....
I know that diapers come in stages(newborns, stage one, etc).
Does anyone know how long a newborn will be in a newborn stage diaper??

Maybe the first 2 weeks. DS was 7 lb 8 oz when he was born and they fit perfectly until he was 2 weeks.

You really won't know until your baby arrives and you go through it...some babies are too big from the start [8-10 pounds babies] for newborns and others stay in them a long time...my daughter was just under 6 pounds so she stayed in them longer. I wouldn't buy too many of that size just to be safe...you can use diapers that are too large b/c you can make them tighter, you can't use diapers that are too small...they leak.

Jiavana was in newborns for about 1 1/2 mths then she is still in size 1 and she is 14 weeks. She was under 7 lbs at birth.

Ella was only 6'7" when she was born, so she was in newborn diapers for over a month. She was in size 1 for 2 months.
There's no way to really know until the baby is here.

Steven was in newborn diapers for 4 days. He was born at 9lbs 10 ozs and at the hospital, they put size 2 diapers on him (I don't know why they used such big ones). Thankfully, I only had one package of like 40 NBs or somthing like that and he used up a little more than 1/2 the package after being home 2 days and I had to switch. he was leaking through them. Now he is in size 1, which is what he should have been in from the beginning.
My advice is to get one small package to hold you over and if they fit, then you can always buy more. I would not go and buy a case of NB or anything.

With both kids I think I bought 3 packages of newborn diapers and used most of them before switching to 1's
