DH's Workmans Comp Case
So a few weeks back we receive a letter from the Workmans Comp board for someone that was injured on one of DH's jobs. The ex employee walked into a piece of trim and cut his head and needed 7 or 8 stitches.
The letter said "Evidence shows injury to the Head, Neck, Back, shoulder, elbow, wrist and Both knees"
DH said there is NO WAY all those injuries occured from hitting his head.
So today was the hearing. DH said the claimants report said he hit his head and fell down injuring all those parts of his body.
DH brought another employee with him who actually witnessed the accident. He did not fall!!! He must have thought this was a good way to get money he is not due. Abuse of the system makes me SO mad!! That jerk tried to get more money than he was due, tried to make our premiums go up AND wasted our time. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I know it's never going to happen but he should have to reimburse everyone for wasting their time with a LIE!

Re: DH's Workmans Comp Case
Thank goodness your DH had a witness & was able to help your DH.
I am sorry but why is he not being held responsible for attemtped fraud?
So wrong.

I don't know any of the details. DH just came home and was basically annoyed that he spent 3 hours in a Workmans Comp hearing because of this BS.

Re: DH's Workmans Comp Case
I don't blame him. it is so wrong of someone to try & take advantage. What did this guy think that the extra money comes out of the sky?

Re: DH's Workmans Comp Case
I have seen this so often, thank God Wokers Comp (especially NYSIF) really investigate claims to the fullest.
We had someone that tried to sue for what was proven to be old injuries form years ago! And was also, working while collecting Workers Comp!
Sorry your DH had to waste his time
