DH's Hospital Bag
We live about 1 hour from the hospital so it is not a quick drive back and forth. I want DH to stay with me in the hospital the entire time because I am a nervous wreck and hate hospitals as it is. So since he will also be staying with me...
What should he pack? What does he need in his hospital bag?
For any of you second or third timers... did your husbands stay with you? what did they need?

DH did not stay w/ me last time and won't be staying this time. I wouldn't want him there. I just needed to rest and heal.

Re: DH's Hospital Bag
Will he be going home at any point or is he there for the duration? Will you have visitors that you would be comfortable being occupied with if he needed to run home for stuff? My dh didn't stay with me last time, so my bag just consisted of snacks, cards and other things like that. I would imagine that if he is staying the entire time he would need clothes for each day, toothpaste/toothbrush, hairbrush and other toiletries. I would also find out of he would be able to shower in your room (hospital may have a policy about that). Also, he may want to pack enough stuff in the even that you need a c-section since the stay is longer.

Will you have a private room? If not, I would double check with the hospital. Most have a policy that if it's a shared room, no one can stay over
DH went home when we had DS and as much as I love him, I didn't miss him for those few hours because I was trying so hard to just rest. Plus he would have gotten NO sleep since the nurses come in all through the night. No point in both of us being so sleep deprived those few days.

DH did not stay with me, he was not allowed to. He would leave late and come back early in the morning. If your hospital allows it, then I would think he would just need a change of clothes, toothbrush and maybe some snacks.

Re: DH's Hospital Bag
My DH stayed with me. He won't be this time since we have DD but last time he was happy he brought his pillow. Hospital pillows are tiny. Other than that he brought the usual stuff and some comfortable pants and T's and his slippers. Other than the basics he was good to go.

Same here. I wanted him to get a good night sleep as well for when the baby came home.
