DH parents differently - how does it affect DC?
Just curious on your opinion on this. If you are the assertive/disciplined parent and DH is more passive do you think it affects DC overall behavior?

Yes, I think the child will be confused if both parents are not on the same page. This is what I am trying to get my DH to understand.

It depends. I think it's good if parents are slightly different in their styles. It lets DC know that ALL adults are "in charge", and have to be listened to no matter how they "parent" (this eventually includes teachers, coaches, etc).
However, if one parent completely undermines the other, that's bad.

I agree. DH and I are slightly different in that he's a bit tougher on some everyday stuff that I let slide. Like playing with the knobs on the washing machine - just not worth it to me (until he breaks it, LOL!) where DH will keep telling him no until he stops. But when either of us really reprimands him, he knows enough that we're serious. He'll learn that the boundaries are slightly different, I'm sure, but he will learn that there are boundaries.

I agree with this.
I'm definately the more "strict" (for lack of a better word) parent and DH is much more laid back. DD is keen on who she can get away with certain things and who she can't get away with certain things. However, both DH and I are on the same page as far as how we want to parent our kids if that makes any sense.
