DH just SPIT on the iron
for what reason, I don't know. Maybe to test it, maybe for added steam.

To test if it's hot. I've never heard of someone spitting directly on the iron, but some people do put a little spit on their finger tip and then touch the iron to see if it's hot.

yes i do that i touch the iron with awet fingertip to see if its hot old habits die hard
