DH is sick with the flu - should I be worried?
I am 7w tomorrow and DH thinks he has the flu (just developing). I have not gotten the flu shot and neither has he.
Should I be worried? Should he see if his doctor can give him tamiflu? The doctor might be closed for the day already though. I'm afraid of getting sick since I'm only in my first trimester.

Re: DH is sick with the flu - should I be worried?
What makes him think its the flu and not a cold?
With swine flu out there, I would def suggest he gets checked out.
I remember when I had the flu and DD was only 5 months, I had to care for her all day while DH was at work. I barely touched her. I constantly wiped down the counters and everything that i would go near with lysol wipes. I laid on the sick couch and DH & DD didnt go near that couch. (I did sleep in the bed with DH but I changed the sheets every night!)
I was a little over the top , I know, but DD didnt get it! So I think I did everything I could have to prevent her from getting it. Maybe your DH can do some of those things.

I think because he feels achey in his body not just like during a cold. Maybe it is just a cold??
Thanks for the suggestions. I think we will need to try some of that.

I think the flu hits you like a ton of bricks - it doesn't come on gradually. So hopefully he doesn't. But if he does have it, call your OB and ask them for a Tamiflu scrip. If you start feeling sick, you can fill it.

Re: DH is sick with the flu - should I be worried?
My DH had the flu in June. I was 6 months pregnant at the time. He and I didn't sleep in the same bed. We washed laundry separately, and really avoided getting close to one another until his symptoms went away. I never even so much as got a sniffle.

DH got sick a few weeks ago when I was around 20 weeks. He had body aches, fever, congestion. I made him stay with his parents until he felt better.

Sorry, but I might move out for a few days. Can you stay with your folks until he feels better?

Don't make yourself nuts but definitely take precautions. Stay away from DH, wash bed sheets, disinfect and call doc first thing in the morning so he could go in and get tested and if he does have the flu he should start tamiflu. I was directly exposed to the swine flu and luckly never got it, but I would def call doc and take it from there.
