DH has so many rules when it comes to baby names does yours?
It hasn't started this time, yet but with DS it was torture picking out a name because he had so many rules. It couldn't be a name that a pet has and since so many of his friends name their animals human names, and cute popular names at that, a lot of names were instantly eliminated! I really liked the name Maggie if we had a girl because Maggie May is my favorite song but his aunts lab is named Maggie and he said NO WAY because everyone will think we named her after the dog (what! no one will think that!)
Also, initials were a big deal to him and I don't know if it's because our last name starts with N but it seemed as though whatever named we picked spelled out something.
We also couldn't pick a name that a person he didn't like had or a person he didn't like named their child that name....
It's a name, doesn't mean our child will be like that person, get over it! lol

LOL, I'm like your DH, thankfully my DH is pretty easy going about names, so it isn't an issue for us!

Re: DH has so many rules when it comes to baby names does yours?
OMG - my DH won't even discuss names. Since we got married it was "I won't discuss till you're pregnant" now that I'm pregnant but have agreed to find out what it is, it's "I won't discuss till we find out what it is" Can't wait to hear his next excuse. And it wouldn't surprise me at all if he came up with rules like yours.
At the rate he's going, he may not have to discuss at all and I'll just pick the name! I think we're at the point where he doesn't really get a say on the name if the baby is a girl b/c I'm pretty set...
ah boys! What do we do with them? Good luck to you!
All I can think of with naming the baby after a pet (which is pretty silly with a name like Maggie - it's not like it's Rover! or Fido!), is that scene in Indiana Jones where we find out that Indy named himself after the family dog!

Have your DH and mine met?
Dh is the same way. So many rules that I don't think we will ever agree on a name.
No last names as first names, no professions (Porter, Hunter, Taylor) and no name that have the same initial as the last name.
Initials also can eliminate a name. If the initials spell anything, it's eliminated.
We were team last time. This time we know its a and it's harder to pick a name we can both agree on.
