DH has baby fever.... I don't.

Anyone else is this predicament? DD is 2. She's a handful and has been since day 1. I cant imagine being preg and/or having a newborn again, lol. Although I had a decent pregnancy the first time, the thought of being preg again and the discomfort, no sleeping, MS, etc that comes along with it is making me so anxious. Ignorance was bliss the first time. I def had a touch of PPD with DD too, so I am really nervous about experiencing that again.

DH wants to start trying ASAP, and I'm just not there yet. I am not getting any younger, I'll be 36 soon. And the thought of paying for 2 in daycare. I want another child, but not right at the moment. I dunno, I guess I'm venting or looking for words of wisdom.

I'm an older 30 too and DS is now 4. I don't think I can bring myself to do it again, and MIL (our childcare) has already hinted numerous times that she can't either (SIL has 3 now and she takes care of hers too).

DS has been a huge handful since around 1 1/2 and is finally calming down.

We are at the point where we like our structure and routine and can afford to give DS a lot of extras. I also am able to get a lot of "me time", that I cannot imagine with TWO kids.

We now want to do major renovations to our home and I CANNOT imagine bringing an infant into that scenario.

I think DH wouldn't care either way, but I think ultimately DS is going to be an only child unless we have an oops baby. (I don't mean that to start drama either ;) ).

i feel exactly the same way. DD is almost 2 and i feel like the older she gets the further away i get from wanting another newborn. im hoping around 3 ill come around .

luckily i am only 31 and DH is nowhere near ready yet either so time is more on my side. but i had such a rough time getting pregnant and then delivery was a nightmare and i had bad PPD/PTSD which i somewhat just got over after 2 years. not to mention the thought of a newborn now seems sooo much harder than before you have a kid. once you know what you are getting into it seems that much scarier IMO.

I with you. DS is 15 months and a TOTAL handful right now. DH wants to start trying because it took us 2 years to have DS...I can't imagine going through everything for a 2nd time. This is coming from someone who wanted 4 + kids LOL. I am going to be 33 this year and really thinking I could be one and DONE.

Don't do it until you are ready. My DH had baby fever when our first was 6 months. I was 36, but in no way ready for a second. I was still adjusting to parenthood. Some days I thought I may want only 1 child.

You are the one that has to be pregnant, and your life will be impacted the most, at least at first.

I am one who believes that both parents must be on board.

I did eventually feel ready, we had a second son a few months befor I turned 38. I had an easier time adjusting to being a mom of two. I am glad we waited until I was ready!!

Eta: I had pretty bad PPD after my first child, but not after my second.
