Dh freaked out
Dd has always "talked" to thin air. I always say it my parents watching over her. Tonight she was sitting on the stairs babbling away, sometimes laughing. Dh asked who are you talking to and she pointed at nothing. I said it is grandma and grandpa. She smiled, said yes and went right back to babbling. Said bye and then got up to cuddle with me.
I believe my parents watch over her but it freaks Dh out everytime she babbles to nothing. I always say if she can see things we cant at least they make her smile.

My girls were laughing at something once and I asked one who it was. She said "boy". I said where? She pointed and said "there". Oookkkkkk. Creepy!!

Re: Dh freaked out
My son talks to his dad and grandpa... Freaks the hell out of my mother... He has been communicating with my dad since he was a newborn.. There was one corner of my living room that he would stare at and if he was upset, it would calm him right down... Now he chats with his dad.... I love it..

Re: Dh freaked out
I once saw a floating orb on the baby monitor when DD was just about a year old. It was the anniversary of MIL death too. I woke up and looked at the monitor and saw DD sleeping in her crib. Then all of a sudden I saw this floating orb bouncing all around her. I kept staring at it trying to figure out what it could be. Then I went in her room and there was nothing that could have been causing that. No light coming in from the window, nothing. Looked back on the monitor and there it was again. It was so odd. It never happened before that or since.

Dh freaked out
When DS was maybe 7w old, DH and I were changing and out of the blue he started cooing and smiling but his gaze went right over my shoulder. He was named for his late grandpa and I think he was there.
Another time, he went through a phase of going to his bookcase abd taking my grandmothers Mass card and sitting and kissing it.
More recently, he discovered a picture of his grandpa and became obsessed with holding it and looking at it.

Dh freaked out
Tell your husband it's nothing to be freaked out about. it's a good thing!!!
I used to change my son on the changing table when he was very small (under 3 months) and he would always stare into one corner and smile and coo. I think it was my husband's father saying hi.

Re: Dh freaked out
DD saw a "ghost" once. She was shocked when she pointed to where she saw it and, in her words, "it is gone!". We never talk about ghosts or spirits. After that, kids share a room.

Dh says he just needs a little warning before they visit. I just laughed.

Re: Dh freaked out
Children, pets, etc. they can definitely see things we cannot.
And I think it's beautiful that the spirit of your loved ones are with her. I mean, think about it from their point of view... they have passed on and of course they want to be around their grandchild.
I am an adult and feel my grandparents with me ALL the time. And they send me signs constantly. It makes me feel so comforted. I love them so much and for the two I was closest with, it has been over ten years since their passing and their absence in my life is palpable. I miss them terribly. So, to feel their spirit and soul with me is just wonderful. And I feel they look after my son too.

Re: Dh freaked out
I agree kids can sense/feel things. Some more than others. One of my twins used to constantly laugh at night before going to bed. This went one for months and started about a week after my mom passed away. He would point in the air and babble. I swear she was talking to him.
Even now, he's almost 3.5 and he has wakes up in the middle of the night sometimes and runs in our room and says the ghost woke him up. A few times we have caught him at 3am jumping and laughing in his bed (while his brother is snoring away in his own bed). We say go back to sleep and he says tell the ghost to be quiet

Re: Dh freaked out
I believe it! I definitely believe little ones can see/hear spirits. As young toddlers, both my DDs had a fascination with a picture of my father, who passed when I was little. My almost-15-month-old is currently obsessed with the pic and holds it every morning in my room (there are other family pics around but it's always this one). She points and says "Da-Pa" (what she is currently saying for Grandpa) and starts to dance and sing a song, which I can't make out.

Dh freaked out
I do believe that children can see things. Once in a while my DD will have a conversation with "air", say "bye-bye" and wave when she is finshed and then go back to do what she is doing. One time she went down the hallway towards her room and then ran back hysterical crying and jumped on my lap. I tried to snap pics with my cell phone to see if anything came up but no. The same thing happens that happend to Nell with seeing floating orbs on the monitor...i still see them float around her room to this day. And in some videos I take, you can see them. I am convinced that there is someone else living in the house not paying the rent!

Re: Dh freaked out
my niece is 2. the Grandmother was watching her and SIL was on the phone with them. My niece starts saying "bad lady" GMA asked who, she says "bad lady over there in middle" pointing to the middle of the room. This is also after she's been screaming in the middle of the night "no, stop, ouch"
They are in the process of moving, SIL thinks the ghosts are mad they are leaving and will no longer have a connection to this world

Dh freaked out
I think I need to sage my house. 75% sure it's haunted, but that's besides the point.
One night, I shut the t.v. off to go to sleep. DD says (yes, she sleeps in bed with us, but DH works nights so it was just me and her) 'no, don't turn the t.v. off.' So, I say 'Why baby? We have to go to sleep.' And she says...'I'm scared of the man over there in the corner'. I about crapped my pants but was too scared to get up. I started to pray and calmed down after a while. Freeeaaakkkyyy.

I just died reading this. My daughter does things like this all the time. She speaks about one person consistently but recently started talking about Angels which I like. It's so freaky.

That would have given me a heart attack and we'd be sleeping with the lights on all night!!!

I think I would have slept in my car. A couple of years ago my gf was house hunting. Her and her 3 year old went to look at a house and the little girl started crying when they went in the bathroom, saying she didn't like the boy in the bathtub. She didn't but that house

Dh freaked out
My dd is a year and I really am petrified of stories like this. She is starting to be old enough to communicate and I am sure my grandparents and aunt are with us. I may faint the day she confirms it.

Re: Dh freaked out
DS is 9, and a couple of weeks ago he was scared of "someone" he saw in the hallway. I went with him and he said he still was seeing that. I didn't want to ask more things I was so scared for a couple of weeks!
