Derek has a double ear infection
He just finished the amoxicillin for the first ear infection and last night developed a fever. Brought him to the ped. and apparently the amoxicillin didnt work. The only other antibiotic he can put him on at 4 months is augmentin. If that doesnt work we have to go to an ENT.

If it makes you feel any better, my DD had an ear infection a few weeks ago, took amoxicillin, and a few days later had a double ear infection. We tried augmentin and it worked, her ears were clear when they were rechecked today. I think the augmentin is stronger.
I've heard that it can upset their tummies, just so you know. My DD was fine, but just be on the lookout.
Hope he feels better!

Thanks  How old is your DC? My mom said amoxicillin didnt work for me either. I am hoping the augmentin does. I am sure it didnt help that he would spit out half the medicine because he hated it. I dont know how I am going to get him to take this now

She's older than your DS, she's 19 months. It has a different taste so maybe he'll be ok? Its hard to get them to take it, especially that little. Good luck

hope the meds work. DD suffers from ear infections often and Augmentin always works terrific..she is 3.5 and has been on it many times.
