delayed 4 month visit

so i put off scheduling DS's 4 month well visit not realizing how quickly the ped books up. the receptionist told me that as long as he has his well visit and vaccines within the month that he is 4 months it is okay.

i am waiting for the ped to call me back - but does that sound okay to you? DS turns 4 months on the 5th, and his appointment isn't till the 21st - he will only be 2 weeks away from turning 5 months at that point.

Re: delayed 4 month visit

We had to delay a couple of visits as well with G. Especially once I was back at work & had a less-flexible schedule.

Re: delayed 4 month visit

The only thing you really need to watch is the schedule of some vaccinations.

I almost did not make it for the 3rd shot of 1 vaccine because the last shot had to be done by a certain age.

Katie had hers at 4 1/2 months, the Dr just said to make her 6 month check up at 6 1/2 months so she gets the full 2 months to grow

Sounds ok.
AJ went in on her 4th month visit but got no shot as she wasn't feeling well. She's scheduled to go back for those in Jan when she'll be 5months. in Feb she's back for 6months.

Time flies!!!

Re: delayed 4 month visit

For most of DD's first year she was off - her 6 month appt was 1 week shy of turning 7 months, and her 9 month apt was 2 days AFTER she turned 10 months. Since there were no shots at the 9 month, we were able to catch back up, and had her 12 month appt on time.

You do need to watch the vaccines, once her 3 month appt was off, everything else had to be off because there has to be a certain amount of time between doses of certain shots.

In the end, it wasn't a big deal at all.

Re: delayed 4 month visit

Due to insurence issues, DD didnt get her 4 month shots until she was 5 months... no big deal, the dr said she can get her 6 month shots 6 weeks later.

Re: delayed 4 month visit

Sounds ok to me. Ryan has always been pretty on point with his visits (within a week) but I know you just can't schedule them too close together because of the vaccines.
