deed question

we bought our house about a year and a half ago. We have a copy of the deed showing that the house was transferred to us from the prior owner.

We just received something in the mail from NY record retrieval. It says that their records show that we now own the property but that we do not have a copy of the deed in our name. We would have to pay $59.50 to get a certified copy of the deed.

Is this something we should do, or is this something that would automatically be done when we go to sell our house and the deed gets transferred to the new owners?
