Decorating a corner mantle

My turn for help. I need to decorate our mantle. I need ideas. I don't want it too cluttered.

I was thinking a nice wooden framed mirror to rest into the corner and then the crystal vases and the elephant, maybe a few small framed pics?

I love the first one (sans hanging letter) It is what I was thinking but DH thinks it looks stupid. I may have to just overrule him!
