Deciding on which breat pump to get
I had a Medela pump in style and they have fancier ones too. Seemed like a good quality, worked well and it's a popular one. Also, if you haven't already...check with your med ins. to see if they cover medical equipment for you. Mine does and the pump was 100% free!

Re: Deciding on which breat pump to get
I asked my BTDT friends which pumps they liked and narrowed it down to the Medela In Style, Medela Freestyle or the Ameda purely yours. Mostly everyone said that if I can get the freestyle to go for it. I contacted edgepark and they told me that all 3 pumps would be the same price for me so I went with the freestyle. I also read a lot of reviews online and read the breast pump section in the baby bargains book.

Is Medela the most popular one - are there any other people that have used other brands and have had a successful experience. My insurance doesn't cover breast pumps.

Re: Deciding on which breat pump to get
I know when I was pregnant with my 2nd, I rented one from BRUS. Not sure if it was a Medela but it really worked for me since she couldn't launch on.
For my 3rd, we just decided to buy the Medela. It worked but I felt it didn't have as strong of a suction as I one I had rented.

The rentals are usually like the ones they have in the hospital and i'm not sure if you can buy them but they would prob be really pricey if you can.

Re: Deciding on which breat pump to get
I have been exclusively pumping for the past 6 months and I use the Medela In Style Tote. It has been working great for me expecially since I returned to work and have to pump several times a day in my office. It has storage for all the parts and most people don't know I am carrying around a breast pump.
I never tried to put it through my insurance, but that sounds like a great idea.

I have the Medela Freestyle and loved it, although I have nothing to compare it to. It's small, lightweight and pretty quiet. It gets the job done and from what I could tell is about the most popular on the market (at least 2 years ago it was).
