debatin whether to get another cat
We have a cat who is 3 years old and a coworker asked if I wanted a kitten who is 7 months old (fixed n has her shots already). I just dont know if we should have two cats.. what concerns me is how is my 3 year old cat going to accept this kitten. My cat is friendly, sweet, affectionate and playful. Dh thinks that it would be good for her to have a friend or be a mother to this kitten. I'm concerned b/c I'm taking on another responsibility. Adding another cat does cost money too. DH doesnt see that...is there a big difference in the cost of 2 cats?? I'm sooo confused on what to do. arghhhh...how do 2 cats that don't know each react??

Re: debatin whether to get another cat
we have three right now - the first one we had gotten when she was a baby, when she was almost 2 years old we introduced a 7 month old kitten - they were confrontational for a little while (about 2 weeks) but they got used to each other. I think that happens when you introduce ANY animal into the household. I havent seen a difference in the cost of having 1 cat to having 3 cats. Every week I pick up the same amount of cat food and cat little. It makes our home a little happier having them all together

i like having two. I don't think it's a big difference in cost from one to two. It's not like going from one to 10.
Yes, your other kitty will be a little miffed at first but I bet ya in no time they will be sleeping together.
I like having two so they can keep each other company.
