Only parents can understand.
Unfortunately, thats the way it is. I used to get annoyed at screaming kids in stores until I had one of my own. Completely changed my outlook.
So sorry you had to deal with that. 
That's the thing . . . the woman that walked away *looked* old enough to have grandchildren. The one sticking her fingers in her ears did *look* like a single career woman though.
I did forget in my original post to give kudos to the woman behind the counter who took the order. In the light of day (without the screaming toddler) I wasn't sure I ordered the right thing. I just called Stop & Shop and it is exactly correct!!

People suck!!
And the people who make comments about "controlling your kid" probably don't have kids to know what the EFFF they're talking about.
My kid is a screamer too when the mood strikes her.
