Dear MIL
Dear MIL,
Yes I understand you have no life and you are bored to tears at work so you call me everyday just to talk about nothing but when you call in the morning while I'm trying to nap with Maddie because I have to work all night tonight don't expect me to pick up. I do appreciate you leaving me a message to call you back even though I have never called you for anything in my life but there is no need to follow up with repeated phone calls throughout the day and then on the fifth follow up phone call leave another message saying "I have no idea where you could be". Actually I have been home all day staring at the caller ID rolling my eyes and not picking up. I'm sick of our 30second phone calls which go something like this:
You: what's doing?
Me: nothing
You: How's the baby?
Me: fine
You: So Adam's (DH)working?
Me: yes (silly man seems to go to work everyday)
You: Give the baby a kiss, ok?
Me: Ok
You: Give Adam a kiss too.
Me: Ok
You: Give everybody a kiss
Me: ok (Am I supposed to kiss myself? )
Kindly get the hint that I have no interest in talking to you and limit your phone calls

Cetainly not like her. I know she means well but there have been times where she can literally call once an hour! I think that borders on obsessive.

she sounds just like mine!!!!! I also am very thankful for caller id and dont always pick up.

I didn't realize my MIL had another DIL
It actually gets to the point when DH is home, I will say, after all the niceties you described above of course, "Would you like to speak to Jonathan?" DH usually proceeds to give me the finger at that point!
