Dear Baby

Dear Baby,

You obviously have not received the memo; otherwise, you would be out of the womb. That's OK, I understand the mail delivery system is slow these days, and you might not yet understand the morse code messages tapped along my stomach. Let me make it clear for you. It's your due date.* I made sure the sun would be out today and tomorrow (at 65 degrees, nonetheless!), a difficult feat for the month of February. But I did it--just for you. I even made your bed, washed all of your clothes, and sterilized everything under the sun. You will like it here. I won't even hold it against you that the doctor couldn't find your heartbeat for over two minutes today. I know that you will do much scarier moves when you are out, but at least I can look at you and say really? Was that necessary? Just come out. I won't make you compete in beauty pageants. You're ready for us, I know you are.

Until then, I will continue to listen to Regina Spektor, as she is the only thing that seems to take my mind off of you.



*I found out today at my 40 week appt. that my due date is actually today. And here I've been saying it's the 18th for nine months!

thought honestly if YOU have been confused for 9 months maybe your wasn't planning on anything until tomorrow and isn't willing to adjust that fast

was there any progress at our doctors appt?

and 2 minutes? Holy cr*p I would have had a heart attack!

Dear Chub,

You have no idea how much your mom wants to see you. If you don't come out soon, your mom will be forced to give all of your socks to your older brother and then your feet will be cold. Trust me, it's not 98.6 degrees on the outside. Mommy and Tugboat are getting very impatient with you and if you don't come out soon, you will probably be punished.

No progress whatsoever . She's obnoxious (the baby, not the OB, haha). And the heartbeat thing was REALLY disconcerting, I could have cared less about the progress after that whole thing. The HB was up HIGHER than ever, despite the fact that she is not breech! I don't know what that was all about, it was incredibly upsetting though. I just bit my tongue the whole time and thought about how DH would react when I tell him he needs to come get me and drive me to the hospital...thank goodness it didn't come to that, he probably would have accidentally crashed his car on the ride over .

I feel your pain!! (literally) I wrote my little guy a song last night while walking around in pain. .

I won't torture you with the whole thing but it goes a little something like this.

"Please stop stompin on my cervix
If you want to come out just do it
Please stop crashing it through my rib cage
I swear there's not a way through it.
If you are so unhappy with the space you're in
Then do something about it - head out NOT IN!!!"

Too bad about the due date....February 17th babies tend to be intelligent as well as good looking Though definitely can be obnoxious. Hey, the day's not over yet!
