DD's sleep is improving!

I have posted numerous times seeking advice & complaining about DD's sleep issues. She has slept through the night since 12 weeks but only in her swing and only after being nursed to sleep.

Well, at 6 1/2 months, we are seeing some major improvement!!!! I have stopped nursing her to sleep- I think one of the reasons why she can't nap in her crib & fall back to sleep in the middle of the night is because she is so used to being nursed to sleep. I now feed her solids at 5:15, play, then nurse her at 6, then a bath, pjs, storytime, then she's in the crib before 7.

The first few nights she cried & fussed a lot- we checked on her every 20 minutes. Tonight, she only fussed for 20 minutes!

My baby is going to sleep on her own!!! I can hardly believe it!

CIO at 4 months was a total failure for us. So I stopped fighting it. I think she just wasn't ready to be in her crib laying down. She loved the swing. So I kept her there. I stopped fighting it and now she's ready for the crib AND to fall asleep by herself! I love it!

I hope my experience can help others who struggle with their baby's sleeping. I think that sometimes we try so hard to do what is "right", when babies aren't always ready for the change. I beat myself up over the swing sleeping for so long.
