DD chomping on hands

My DD, who is almost 3 months old, chomps and sucks on her hands all of the time!!!! Practically 24/7.

During her 1st month of life, she only did that when she was hungry. During the 2nd month, she barely did it at all. Now her hands are in her mouth all of the time (she is not teething). Is this normal? When does this go away? Please tell me this goes away LOL

Normal
Ped said that is the age they discover their hands and the way they explore new things is by putting it in their mouth.
Totally normal and it will stop soon (as soon as they discover something ELSE that is!)

Normal. Oral phase. While it also could be the very beginnign of teething it is most likely just oral phase.

ETA - it goes away but not anytime soon. Sorry, get used to the hands always being wet and soon everythign around them.

DD is 4 months, has been doing it since 2.5 months. Everything goes in her mouth, and she now discovered how to suck on her thumb. She sucks on her lovey too.

Like everyone else said, it's totally normal. DD is almost 6 months and everything goes into her mouth...even her feet - it's too cute.

My son just turned 2 months and just started doing this a few days ago. I think he is trying to find his thumb. I think its adorable. Whats not so adorable is when he pulls his hands away and goes medieval lol He starts screaming wanting them! We just help him put them back in his mouth and he stops.
