DC age limit on cribs?
My DS will be 2 yo when my DD is born. He hasn't attempted to climb out of his crib yet so I was considering buying a 2nd crib and keeping him in there. I noticed on the Graco Lauren it said recommended age up to 2 years.
For those who kept their DC in cribs past 2 did you have to buy a certain crib?

Re: DC age limit on cribs?
no, i think it depends on comfort and when the child is ready.
our son is 27 months and still loves his crib. we do plan to move him to a bed this fall so that his sister can use his crib but he is ready - physically, it is getting tight and I think he will sleep better in a bed.

Re: DC age limit on cribs?
My kids were both in cribs past 2. DS 1 went into a bed at 2yrs8mos. DS 2 is 2yrs6mos and we have no plans of moving him anytime soon. He even still sleeps in a ack n play when we go away.

Re: DC age limit on cribs?
My DD will be 4 in September and is still *technically* in the crib although we converted it to the toddler bed back in January so she can get in and out on her own. She is comfortable and LOVES her bed so we're fine with her staying in there.

Re: DC age limit on cribs?
Um hellz no. DD is going to stay in that crib until I absolutely have to take her out. She is over 2 and there is still a ton of room in there for her so no reason to change it. I think they say that because maybe after 2 they are more able to climb out or something- but she never has.

Re: DC age limit on cribs?
MY ds will be 4 on Saturday and we just took him out of the crib. He never complained or attempted to climb out.
The recomendation is probably 2 because they think they will climb out of the crib. If you child is happy in crib no rush out

Re: DC age limit on cribs?
Mine were in the crib until 3 and then one of my sons fell out and broke his collarbone. So we put them in beds.

Re: DC age limit on cribs?
DS is 2.5, we are keeping him in the crib until he starts to climb out and it's not safe. Until that happens, it's better for everyone if we keep him contained at night!

Re: DC age limit on cribs?
I read somewhere that once they're toilet trained they should be in toddler beds, so they can get out if they have to.
