Re: Daycare or baby sitter?

Grace has had both. She is in daycare now because the only sitter I trusted was our Aunt who was a teacher and went back to work in September. There are pros and cons to both. Why do you ask?

Re: Daycare or baby sitter?

Molly is going to be 14 weeks when I go back to work and I choose a sitter/nanny. I choose someone to come to the house because at her age, I don't think that she will benefit that much from other children being around and I don't want to have to bundle her up and take her to daycare in bad/cold weather.

ETA: When she's older, I do plan on using daycare so she has social interaction with children her own age. It's just that at her young age, I rather the one on one play time and attention.

Re: Daycare or baby sitter?

When Noah was born I was adamant that he would never go into daycare, that we would do in home daycare and that he would be with one person...however as he has grown older and I now know what kind of baby he is, I am putting him into a daycare situation. I feel that he is a very social little boy and that he thrives on being with kids his own age. I know this because we go to playgroups and classes (not to mention drinking coffee) everyday and the days that we are on our own, he is not a happy chappy!

I am always open to changing my mind...if this isn't the way for us to go, we will change the situation. But he will be just over a year old when he goes into nursery and I think that the learning through play will benefit him greatly!

I think there's pros and cons to each and that every family does what is best for them.
