daycare moms - your health!

Tommy started daycare in November and of course has a runny nose allllll the time. I am now on my FIFTH cold since November whereas before this I probably had one cold per winter! I knew to expect the baby to catch germs frequently but I did not think I'd get everything he gets!!! What can I do to boost my immunity..I do take a daily vitamin. It's hard bc I just went back to work in November, we are super busy at work and my boss is less than understanding about taking sick days - I had to take one right after I came back bc I got bronchitis. Anyway...share some tips!!!

I was sick about 6 times between sept - dec. - my kids started school in september and I caught everything. I started taking a vitamin D supplement daily in dec and have stopped getting sick. It's really supposed to boost your immunity.

He started in 1/4... for a few days I haven't had a runny nose.. amazing.
I'm finishing up my prenatels and I drink a lot of water. I don't think you can 100% prevent it. I do use the hand sanitizer after I leave the day care and wash his hands and face as well. I don't think you can 100% protect yourself.

ETA: I also use humidifiers in his and my BRs.

I keep hand sanitizer in every room and make a serious mental note to ALWAYS use it before I touch the girls and after.

That, and raw, chopped garlic -it has some amazing natural antibiotic properties!

I do the same... hand sanitizer and washing my hands often. When I drop off or pick up Mason I always sanitize my hands at the daycare. Lots of Vit C too.
Eat blueberries everyday. Heard it's good antioxidants

You eat it raw?

Yeah - DH makes me do it Chat Icon He chops up one clove and gives me half with some honey and I just swallow it quickly. It really does seem to help - I don't get as sick as often, and when I do, it's not as bad.

Re: daycare moms - your health!

Ugh.. its terrible! Chloe and I have both been sick since she started daycare and I went back to work 1 month ago. I have had the same cold that I just can't kick. Chloe has had an ear infection and fever and an unexplained fever and now rash (going to the doctor in 1 hr). I feel like she has been out of daycare more than she has been there. DH and I have both taken sick days in the past few weeks.. we are totally stressed because we can't keep doing this. Hopefully it will end soon Chat Icon
