Daycare Holiday Gift?

What is the standard amount given to teachers at a daycare? This is the first year my son is in daycare during the holidays.

Re: Daycare Holiday Gift?

There really is no standard amount.
It's what you can afford and feel comfortable with.

I gave $100 if she had just one main teacher. $50 each if it was 2 co-teachers

Daycare Holiday Gift?

What nervous nell said. There really isn't a "standard" amount - I kinda asked a couple of the other moms from my daycare who I know the best. Last year, I gave $100 to the 2 fulltime providers, $50 to the 1 part-time provider, and a quality scented candle to all 3

Daycare Holiday Gift?

How about floater teachers or Preschool directors? Only main teachers?

Never the director.

I give to the 3 teachers and one floater. I don't give to the director as she doesn't really interact with my son.

Daycare Holiday Gift?

DS has 3 main teachers and then others here and there due to early/late hrs.

I usually get a small gift and then GCs for whatever amount I can afford that year.

This year I am also getting breakfast (bagels etc) for the entire daycare teachers. It is his last year there and he has been there since he was 8 weeks old. He has had at one point or another every single teacher. Just my way of saying thanks to them all.

Re: Daycare Holiday Gift?

I usually did $75 to the main and $50 for the assistant. I got small gifts (mrs. Prondable apples) for the floaters and chipped in with 2 coworkers of mine who use the same daycare for a fruit platter for the office. Dd changed rooms every September and February though, and I gave a different set of teachers the same gifts in June for end of year. If it was just Christmas and she was in the same room year-round, I'd probably give $100/$75.

Coach wallets with $100 in them for the head and assistant teachers (might give more, it'll be a game day decision). $25 Amazon gift cards for the floaters. Might get a bottle of wine for the director.

Daycare Holiday Gift?

He has 1 main teacher but lately the assistants have not been consistent other than the early morning drop off.

How would you handle that?

I've done this for my daughter's morning care staff and they really loved it. It was about 50 or 60 bucks....if I had spent time buying little things for every person, it definitely would have cost more.

Our daycare gives us a list - and assigns assistants to certain classes (even though they may float) to make it easier.

That being said - I typically give $25 to his main and assistant teacher along with some Bath and Body Works hand soaps. I used to give more but, it seems that it was what most of my friends were giving. I also give them the same amount when my kids move.
