Daycare graduation
So I just found out that Bella will be moved up and out of the infant room at the end of August. Now I know that is like 2 full months away but I am so upset. This woman that is in her room is beyond amazing and Bella (and I) love her. How am I, I mean are we, going to get used to a whole new person...
I think she sensed the distress on my face because she suggested that I speak with a particular woman who's daughter is 7 months older than Bella and moved up right before we started (she often compares Bella and this child as her all time faves )
I cannot believe how upset I am over this (we're talking tears welling up in the eyes here people)...I guess it's also the fact that my little munchkin is growing to fast...

Re: Daycare graduation
I think it's a great idea to talk to the other parent. You'll get the inside scoop about the new teacher(s) in Bella's new room.
Andrew loses 1 teacher every few months where he's at. And I think he moves to a toddler room soon. It is nervewracking for us as parents too.

Re: Daycare graduation
Awwwww... I don't know what I"m going to do when Alex gets placed into the toddler room! We have a similar situation where Alex just LOVES one of the infant care workers. Everytime we drop her off she starts shaking her arms, clapping and OOH OOH-ing the second she sees Kathleen, who also happens to be our babysitter! I think it will be a very, very sad day in the Beer household when Alex "graduates" But, then again, change is always a good thing and I'm sure the next room up must be on par with the rest of your daycare center... hang in there!

I truly believe that this woman, Phyllis, is the reason Bella's separation anxiety has not spilled over into daycare. There are many other amazing women at this facility, including the women that she is partnering with her in the room for the summer to help transition...Bella truly is the freakin' Queen of Sheba at daycare with all the teachers running over when we come in, in the morning and all of them making sure they say goodbye when she leaves at night, so I know she'll be OK, I guess.
It was just a shock knowing that there is an end to Phyllis taking care of my daughter because I have come to care about her and love her for how special she makes my daughter feel. Oh, I am tearing up again. If I didn't know better, I'd question if I was PG...

Re: Daycare graduation
I know it's tough when they're moved up. Especially when they're leaving great caregivers behind. Actually it may help her get over stranger anxiety more easily if she's in contact with a lot of other people.
And of course, you remain the one constant in her life.

I feel your pain. I shutter to think about when Carlie has to move up to the toddler room. I love her teachers now. They make me feel like she is the best thing since sliced bread.
