Daycare center tips
each of my kids have a teacher and an asst.
there are a few other assts who "float"
what should I tip?
last year, DS#1 had teachers in and out since they were in a transition phase and I had to top 5 people - so I did $20 each. and DS#2 had only started 1 month before - so $20 each.
If I do $40 for teachers and asst teachers - is it bad if I give the floaters $20?
what are you doing?

Re: Daycare center tips
I'm no help because I never tipped the daycare workers. I bought them Christmas gifts though. I bought for the teacher, assistant and 2 other girls that were there at pickup. I think it's weird that people tip them but from what I hear, it's a regional thing.

Re: Daycare center tips
I just think they get paid so little that I think they would rather have the cash than a gift they may not want?

Re: Daycare center tips
I was a teacher for a while and I have a lot of teacher friends. I plan on giving cash. When you've been doing it a while, you pretty much get the same type of gifts over and over and unless they were edible, I didn't use most of them.
