Daycare ? re meals
If your daycare provides meal, but your DC is picky, do you send in an alternative? I have to pack a yogurt and cheese for Ryan b/c he usually takes a couple of bites of the lunch they serve and that's it.

Re: Daycare ? re meals
I bring in a yogurt as a supplement to her afternoon snack - but for the lunch, my daycare provides alternates. So on the days there is egg salad or tuna, DD gets a cheese sandwich.

Re: Daycare ? re meals
Athan starts in a few weeks, but they told us that we can send in alternatives. For example on the days they get cheerios for breakfast, we can bring in Puffs for him or something else. They do try to "encourage" that all children eat the same meal so that they don't get jealous if one child is eating something different.

Re: Daycare ? re meals
DS is sometimes picky but also has food allergies. I supply them with his yogurt since he cant have certain flavors also, they inform me ahead of time of meals in case he is allergic and to supply them with an alternative option if necessary.
Also, I noticed as he has gotten older he is not quite as picky once he sees all the other kids eating. Monkey see monky do

Re: Daycare ? re meals
I bring cheese and fruit to supplement what daycare supplies - some days he doesn't like what's for lunch or this week he's been not feeling well so I get a lot of notes - ate cheese for lunch

Re: Daycare ? re meals
Lucas eats better at daycare than at home He has a whole separate life. I swear...it's peer pressure or something because he'll eat a bologna sandwich at school but make gagging noises when I even mention it to him at home.
But to answer your question...you can definitely bring alternatives. We did in the beginning and they always tried their food first and then offered the other if he refused.
