Day trip to Sesame?

Anyone ever do a day trip? How long did it take to get there (we are in Nassau)...I was thinking 2 hours? The park opens at 10 so we were thinking about leaving here at 9 after the traffic dies down. We'll probably do the character lunch and than stay til the park closes at 8.

Did you do the dry rides first and than the water rides? Or do the water rides in the middle so you have time to dry off?


ETA: Are there any coupons out? I saw Hershey coupons at DD.

Also, is the character lunch or breakfast worth it? DS knows the characters but isn't a crazy fan of elmo or anything. Wondering if we should skip it this time. How long does the breakfast/lunch last? Do they do anything special or do the characters just walk around?

We did it as a day trip. It was about 2 hours or less from Nassau. Retailmenot.com has coupon codes, also for the dining, or if you use facebook sesame place has a page. They list discounts.
I think the dining is worth it. Each character comes to your table, and then they do a dance. i didn't see the characters walking around the park a lot. This way DS saw everyone.

My friend and I try to take or boys twice every summer and we always do it in one day.
