Day 3 at Daycare = bad drop-off and clingy

I have to write this fast.

He cried hysterically when I did the drop off. He fell asleep on the car ride home at 6pm. He keeps waking up hysterical, crying for me. I BF him, snuggle him, put him back to sleep and then he's up again. (I ended up sleeping with him from 7-8 because he wouldn't let me leave Chat Icon ).

He's normally not like this at all. How do I make this easier for him (and for me)?

Are you back at work?

If not, I would stay with him for a few hours, leave for 1-2 hours then come back, stay a bit then leave with him.

Increase to 2 leaves on the 2nd day, etc...

I went back the beginning of May. My parents and ILs have been watching him until this space opened up.

What I wouldn't give to go back to the days where our guys were together and things were happy.

When Lucas was having some distress at drop off Rich would stay later to hang with him a bit longer and get him settled in...he would usually leave when Lucas was eating breakfast and content. Not sure if that's any help but wante to throw it out there.

I'll see if I can stay a little longer tomorrow. It's really hard when you're trying to prove yourself to a new job and be a good mom.

I think he may have seen the other children getting upset that their parents were leaving and he then put it together that I was leaving.

It's really too bad I'm too far east for you. I miss the old days too Chat Icon

Once he gets used to the kids it'll all be set because he'll want to play from the start. Can you get there earlier..tack time on the top so you can get to work on time?

My goal is to get there are 8am. I actually did it this morning. The first two I was running late trying to get everything together. I left at 8:20am. I can only really stay until 8:30 and still get to work on time. Hopefully 10 extra minutes will help. Chat Icon
