Day 2 of very little movement UPDATE

I am 38w2d and Chat Icon has def had some quiet days but not usually this quiet and never really 2 in a row. I felt some strong movements this morning after breakfast around 10 but not much since so I had a small coffee about 1/2 hour ago and still nothing really. I know she's OK she has moved since but do I call the doctor? They specifically told me only call us if 1) you bleed like a period 2) your contractions are 5 mins apart and you can't talk during them or 3) if your water breaks. They never said anything about decreased movement and they do not have hours on Saturdays. Chat Icon

UPDATE: I called the dr. and I spoke to the dr covering them and he advised me to go to L&D which I did and everything is fine. Thanks ladies. I feel so much better. Chat Icon

Re: Day 2 of very little movement

Drink some OJ or something else sugary. Then lay down and count the movements. My doc said if I count less then 10 in an hour when doing that I should call.

You know,it makes me mad that your doctor would tell you only to call during those circumstances!!!! What the heck are they here for if not to serve us with their services! If you are worried about your little one I would call! Listen to your motherly instincts, If you feel somethign may not be right, by all means yous hould call!

Re: Day 2 of very little movement

Little movement could be a sign of labor soon to come...

Once the baby gets in position you will feel her less and less...

If you are concerned though, call the Dr...

Re: Day 2 of very little movement

The baby has a lot less room to move towards the end of the pregnancy. I wouldn't worry!

Re: Day 2 of very little movement

i had the same issue earlier in the week, now Chat Icon is back to normal.

i would, if you can, try to lay down and see if you notice smaller movements that you might normally miss moving around and standing up.

if not, i would call your doctor Chat Icon

Re: Day 2 of very little movement

I actually spoke to my dr. about this on Thurs. Tues and weds I didn't really feel him moving around. She said to drink something sugary, lay down on the left side and concentrate for an hour. If then after an hour there is no movement, then to call. She said the ten times in an hour thing is not really valid. She said everyone is different.
