Cysts....UPDATE
So I went in Mon. for my cd3 u/s and b/w in order to begin my IVF cycle. I was supposed to start stims then, but they found 2 large cysts on my ovaries so I am now on BCP's until Sat. when they are going to recheck me. Has this happened to anyone? I have never taken any meds so thats not what is causing it. Also, how long until they go down? I'm SO bummed out that this is pushing everything back, why can't anything go right
*UPDATE: Well I went back in today to check on everything and I found out how big it was... it was 60mm on Mon and is still 50mm today The smaller one went down, but the big one is still hanging around (although it is shrinking a little). It is non-estrogen producing, but they are going to keep me on the bcp's for the rest of this cycle I guess to hopefully shrink it further. I'm pretty bummed out about it as I was really hoping to start and be done with it all by Christmas, but there is nothing I can do about it. Just another bump in the rocky IF road....

Re: Cysts....
I've been delayed two cycles due to cysts. The first one we were able to start on day 10 and the second one on day 14. I was doing just injectible/IUI cycles though, not IVF so I don't know if its any different. Mine were corpus luteal cysts and they didn't go away completely before we started but were "resolving." Do you know what kind they are? I've heard of cysts taking up to a month to go away
I know how disappointing it is to get delayed. You get yourself all psyched up to start and then the brakes get put on. I hope you are able to start soon!
GO AWAY CYSTS!

Re: Cysts....
I have no idea what kind of cysts they were. I was so shocked when they told me about them, I never thought to ask any questions. I think one was 20x20x20 or something like that and the other one was smaller. I have no idea what the numbers mean, it's just what the tech was rattling off and then the RE said they were "pretty big". UGH!! You give me hope that you were ablt to start mid-cycle though. My biggest fear is that the cycle is a bust, I can deal with a delay though. Thanks Carolyn

Re: Cysts....UPDATE
You are much better off if they wait..if you start stimming and they are still big, they can fill with fluid and make you VERY uncomfortable. Plus, they can have a negative affect on the other follicles. Better to wait and have good results, trust me.

Re: Cysts....UPDATE
Aww, im so sorry. I used to get cysts every other cycle. You want the timing to be optimal.
I hope they go down!
