Cysts, ARRGGHHHH!!

I have been trying to put everything into place to do IVF with my new smarty-pants doctor with all his fancy ideas about how to get my body to (1) make enough eggs to go through with retrieval and (2) get the eggs to stay alive in the lab.

I have been to Chicago to work with an immunologist to figure out why I can't stay preggers after 4 losses. She started me on meds and has her own protocol, which I have been excited about.

I have been going through hypnotherapy and meditating and doing fertility yoga like a madwoman to stay zen and positive and all that for months now.

All in hope of starting the IVF in June before Cornell shuts down. All this after a 4 month hiatus following my ectopic and emergency surgery. One whole year after my last attempt at IVF.

When I was in Chicago at the beginning of the month the immunologist saw a cyst on my left ovary. When I went for ovulation monitoring, I then had TWO cysts. For awhile they were producing estrogen and I wasn't growing a follie, but they haven't been producing estrogen for about 2 weeks and everything is still at a standstill--no big follie, estrogen around 70.

So I needed to ovulate this cycle in order to biospy the endometrial cells they plan to use to cultivate my embies for the IVF. Now I've missed the cut-off date for the endometrial biopsy, which means that AFTER they reopen in July, I can START working on a regular cycle to biopsy the cells and THEN I can start IVF, which probably won't happen until mid-August at the earliest.

Which means I'll be starting ANOTHER school year missing classes in the morning and feeling pulled in 10 different directions because monitoring only starts at 8:00, 30-45 minutes away from where I work. So much for using my relaxed time-off in the summer to focus on staying cool and making a baby. I'll have to juggle stress-on-stress again.

And it's a brand-new problem. I have never (to my knowledge, with all this monitoring) had an anovulatory cycle, and the only time I've ever had cysts has been after m/c or IVF. I haven't been on meds in almost a year. W T F!

And I feel myself backsliding into negative-town because I just don't get why the cosmic forces knock me down every time I start to dig a way out of this Chat Icon

If you made it to the end of this, thank you.

Story. Of. My. Life.

Chat Icon Chat Icon I'm so sorry you are going through all this now!! Chat Icon I know how it feels to feel like you've come SO close.. yet SO far... That's totally bizarre that cysts would pop up out of nowhere now! Chat Icon

I truly WISH I had something helpful here to say... but the best I've got is that you've been on this road so long and have been through far worse than a few cysts and a delayed cycle. Oh and trust me, I'm not minimizing it because I'd be LIVID right now too if I had to delay things any further. In infertility world, a minute is an hour and a day is week and a week is a year..... you know how it is.

Can you try and get away this summer before the next cycle would begin? Focusing on a vacation would hopefully make the time go faster. Although, I know how it is... the LAST thing any teacher wants to do is wish away the summer Chat Icon Chat Icon but hopefully that would help keep your sanity!!!!

Oh, and when you do get the ball rolling on this cycle, hopefully we won't be due too far apart!! Chat Icon
